To introduce their award winning hospitality and welcome the guests, the El San Juan Resort set up a tantalizing welcome dinner, complete with entertaining steel drum performances.

During the next day, guests were given an opportunity to play volleyball in a tournament staged on the beach.

Of course, because this was an incentive trip, we had to celebrate employee performances– and what better way than with an awards dinner? Not only does El San Juan Resort have the perfect ambiance for the event, but they entertain, as well! The “Gentleman Thief” was too much fun.

Of course, relaxation is one of the main reasons to vacation in Puerto Rico. The resort is surrounded by 15 lush acres of rain forest, and on our hike we learned some spa history, for instance: when the Spanish Conquistadors landed there, the native Taino people told them about the healing properties of the hot springs…in other words, the famed fountain of youth! So we made like Ponce de Leon, and explored our way through (and up!) the trees toward the Yokahu Tower observation point.

Our trip came to end with a beachfront farewell dinner, complete with local bands and dancers in full costume. San Juan really knows how to have a good time! In fact, the El San Juan Resort and Casino is host to Club BRAVA and Ultra Lounge– the premiere nightclub in Puerto Rico! On the weekends (starting Thursday) even the lobby is packed with club-goers looking for a place to simultaneously chill out and dance the night away.

Thanks to ‘the cloud’ and all the web app tools we implemented in the past 14 months, heading into the studio  – as a completely functional remote “office” – requires three things: relative quiet (distant waterfalls are ok -  helicopters not so much), WiFi, and a power outlet…and that is all. Let me repeat, “that is all” so you can let that sink in. No walls. Table optional. Screw the printer.  Coffee is a bonus…as is a beach umbrella.

Today, my office is set up at “Humu’s” – an iconic Maui restaurant on property here at the Grand Wailea Resort. I am the only one here as they are only open for dinner (or for our incentive group breakfast), so I have the WHOLE place to myself…solid WiFi…everything I need is available, and the best part?

To get the word out about their incredible propane products and accessories, and boost foot traffic to their booth in the expo, they called upon the awesome photography skills of PWP Studio! It works like this: a modeling agency is contracted to bring in some beautiful ladies to tote mobile displays of propane gas regulators and other various hardware devices. While they are mixing and mingling with the guests at the party, PWP is capturing great images– of guests, of models with guests, and of folks generally having fun and eating good food.

MMMM, Wolfgang Puck Catering at the Georgia Aquarium always makes such delish desserts! Yummy!)

Now here comes the smart part…we all know that PWP Studio could certainly do on-site printing and send guests home with their photos that same night. However, to encourage a relationship with their guests and increase foot traffic…Cavagna makes the pictures available at their convention booth the next day! This is the third year that we’ve used this particular solution, and we always get rave positive reviews.

How cool is that bar with the brand identity built right in? The decor and gorgeous bar set-ups were the work of our friends at Your Event Solution. PWP Studio loves providing a solution to a problem, and we think that photos from the previous night’s party was a great way for Cavagna to increase their booth traffic!

GaMPI is one of the core organizations of professionals catering to the event industry in Atlanta and The Gathering was an event planned by the best, and hosted for the best. After all, nobody plans a party like professional party planners, and nobody has access to event resources like the vendors that work with event industry professionals! And since PWP Studio is GaMPI’s official photographer for 2012 (How proud are we?) we were on hand to capture all of the action.

The party, which also doubled as a premiere networking event, was held at the historic 200 Peachtree and featured decor sponsorship from of our industry favorites, such as A Legendary Event, Cort Event Furnishings, Total Plant and Floral, and Party Tables.

And there was some amazing food as well, our friends at  Bold American Catering, A Divine Event, Affairs to Remember, Dennis Dean Catering and Proof of the Pudding made sure of it! (Did you see what A Divine Event did, with their Waffle House theme? So clever.)

Active Production and Design and Live Event Solutions were on hand to create a rock’n’roll atmosphere with  Ascension– the amazing band from East Coast Entertainment, plus Amusement Masters were there to start some fun times too!

Plus, if that weren’t enough beautiful decor, delicious food and fun entertainment, you could also rub elbows with the Freeman Company and Bryant Risk Management and Security.

So to recap, take the best of the event industry, put them in one place to showcase their talent, andthrow one awesome party to support a deserving cause…THAT’S how the industry does it!

The buffets were as attractive as they were delicious, and accented perfectly by the unique floral arrangements. Those particular tulips are called “Flaming Parrot” and were brought in just for the occasion!

Gorgeous, right? Now you might ask yourself, “Self…why did the Atlanta Event Center at Opera want to use FLAMING parrot tulips in particular?” Well, after the incredible performance by the aerialists on silks…

…there was a little bit of FLAMING fire action on the stage!!

This was the first event in this space to have pyrotechnics, and we think it came out AWESOME! Thanks so much for having us there to capture photos of this fun fire, Lindsay!

As if it weren’t cool enough for CAKE fans to be experiencing such an up-close and personal experience with the band, the venue itself rocks as much as the music did. The rooftop at the W Midtown has a beautiful view, probably because two sides of the venue are wall to wall glass! For some photographers having so many windows might be a problem, but not at PWP. Our professionals took some amazing shots of the guys performing, and the crowd enjoying.

This event was part of a multi-year fundraising effort by WLU for both their alumni and active students called “Honor our Past, Build Our Future.” This fundraiser has had multiple events in some of the best cities across America, this particular one was held at the largest history museum in the southeast…the Atlanta history Center!

The Atlanta History Center does more than just corporate events, or fundraisers like this one. They have the ability to host lectures, weddings, you can even film your next blockbuster movie there! With so many different types of venues to choose from (The flower filled Swan House Gardens, the rustic Smith Family Farm, or inside the elegant Atlanta History Museum itself) you’re sure to find a look that matches up with your vision.

Speaking of finding something– if you visit the Atlanta History Center website, you can play a little game of “Where’s Waldo Patrick?” with the head honcho of PWP Studio! Comment and tell us if you found him in one of the front page photos. It just goes to show you– PWP Studio is everywhere!

• Congratulations on Receiving the Circle of Excellence Award!

I wanted to share with you my new favorite experience – pizza making class at Max’s Coal Oven Pizzeria! Those smart folks over at Max’s realized three things: people love pizza (and wine!), people love to learn to make food, and the pizzeria has a very unique story to tell. When you put those three elements together, you have one of the best date night (or team-building) concepts I’ve seen in a long time!

I was lucky enough to be invited to participate, and I was blown away by how much fun it was and how much there was to learn about making pizzas the right way. Me, I chose to make a pizza brimming with all of their delicious imported meats and cheese – with some fresh tomato and basil. I don’t know if it was more fun to throw my own dough + create my own pizza (annnnd eat it), or watch and laugh while other people learned to throw their dough!!! Folks, there’s a lot of creative license and interactive learning in this experience – I am a FAN!

Anyway, I just wanted to give a personal endorsement because I truly had a great time ‘throwing dough’over at Max’s! Some good wine, some interesting historical information on the pizza scene, and a whole lot of pizza – what is not to love? Check out the class schedule and sign-up – you will NOT be sorry!

ATLANTA – (March 5, 2012) – Armed with the only genuine coal-burning oven in Georgia,
Max’s Coal Oven Pizzeria lures die-hard and casual pizza lovers alike with its perfectly crisp

lifts the curtain on its unique 1,500-degree coal burning process and lets Atlanta foodies in on the
secret to creating the perfect pie.
Starting in April, Max’s will host a two-hour interactive pizza making class that begins at 8:30
p.m. on select Mondays. Dates for the inaugural spring session are April 16, April 30, May
14, May 28, June 11 and June 18. A talented “Pizzaiolo” (pronounced peetza-yolo), your
instructor for the night, will guide you through an entertaining and educational culinary journey
starting with the history of pizza and coal burning ovens in the United States.
The coal burning process has played a large role in pizza history. The first pizzeria in America,
Lombardi’s, to this day still uses a coal-fired oven. Other famous NYC pizzerias such as Patsy’s
and Grimaldi’s use coal-fired ovens, but New York City almost exceeds the number of coal-fired
ovens in the rest of the country combined. The key characteristic of this process is its consistent
and even heat, which cooks pizza crusts to an optimal thin and crispy texture.
then stretching and throwing the dough to create their own crusts. Pizzaiolos will provide insight
on the different ingredients and toppings used – including a comparative taste test – and guests
will build their pizzas before finally feeding them into the oven.
To wind down the evening, participants will feast on the pizzas they prepared – everyone sharing
